You find you’re in a cocoon
A wonderfully warm womb
Soon your world
Becomes unfurled
All of a sudden it’s bright and shiny
And you get really teary and whiney
You graduate to a small cage
In this, your first year of age
Then as you get a bit older
Mom and Dad get bolder
Now you’re given quite a lot
Of freedom to venture out
A bit later you’re done with school
And go for the gold is now the rule
The world is your oyster
To travel and explore
You find a mate and settle down
The circle starts to come around
When kids start coming out
You relearn what life’s about
Before you know it you retire
Enjoying life seated by the fire
Finally the illnesses of old age
Make your bed your last cage
As you make your final peace
And give your body its release
You join God in the warmness above
Where everything’s full of light and love
